Well, the waiting is finally over and done. This was a great concert with the band playing off the audience's fervor of excitement. My apprehension about the new guitarist subsided once I started hearing him play. Still, Don's playing style and guitar dueling with Joe Walsh was sorely missed.

The band did a fantastic job opening a four night show in Honolulu. They came to play and unleashed a ton of hits spanning their career from the 70s, 80s, and 90s, and 00s. Very nice set though it would have been nice to hear some of Glenn's solo work as well. No doubt the crowd had a blast!

I'd rate this concert as probably one of the top five I've seen. It wasn't as good as the HFO (Hell Freezes Over) show at the stadium but came pretty close. Agree with Ducky about the Journey concert being a damn good one so I'd say it's either a two or three after HFO.

There was also a lot of side entertainment going on all night too - dancing in the aisles, on the seats, on the floor, boob cams, hidden video, expensive merchandise, and way too many drunks. Signs of a good concert!

Ok, if you were like me and went to this one then what will mostly stick in your mind is rain. Lots of it (try all damn night) and this was an open venue, rain or shine concert. However if you’re like me and really big fan of Lifehouse you didn’t give a flying f*** if you where in a middle of a monsoon because it was Lifehouse (well lots of pretty women with wet tops all over the place helped a little) !!!

The opening act was Build a Better Spaceship, a California band. I really felt sorry for these guys. I’m pretty sure almost 90% of the people there didn’t know them (I sure didn’t) and the rain didn’t help and the natives were getting restless. They played a good hour and had a good sound but since I didn’t know them from Adam I couldn’t really get into it.

Anyways about 1 ½ hours standing in the pouring rain sweet salvation finally arrived and I forgot how freakin' soaked I was. Lifehouse start off with most of their new songs and few of their old ones but they really started to bring the house down with Spin (with Jason Wade playing up for the crowd for the ending instrumental of the song). They saved the best for last (I can’t believe nobody knew what Hana Hou meant when I started shouting that) playing You & Me and Hanging by a Moment for the encore.

So despite coming home looking like a wrinkled prune and having a very sore throat (from too much screaming from first song to last song) this was one of the best concerts I’ve been to… EVER! If they ever come back to town I’ll be sure to go see them again (hopefully it’ll be in a drier locale but even then…) :)

Well this was my first concert for the year and while Everclear totally rocked, the venue was a little lackluster. Bad acoustics made things hard to understand (I love loud rock music but it has to make a little bit of sense. It’s a good thing I knew most of the words) plus it was sticky everywhere you went on the main floor (I hate to guess what the heck I was stepping on). ;)

Anyways we got there a little after 8 pm, had a little encounter with security before we got through the door (who thought I was inebriated. Actually I just got back from an all day hike so I was tired & sore most of the day) but I must say the place was packed with hotties (always a good thing) which meant that this must be the place to be that night. We didn’t catch the name of the opening act but they we’re local and had a pretty good beat but when they stopped we had to wait another 30 minutes for Alexakis & Co. to start. Once they came out it was all good.

We we’re about midway to the stage so we got pretty close to the action without actually having getting caught up in it. It was hot, crowded (Yes Spydy free feelage was abound. Couldn’t avoid it really. :) ) , and pretty wild (crowd surfing and mini-mosh pit activity resulted in quite a few people getting the boot during show). They played a good selection of their songs (I think all of their hits but AM Radio & So Much for The Afterglow) and pretty much was high energy from start to finish. Art even did a comedy skit in the middle of the concert.

We left right before the start of the second encore (those bastards!). Overall it was very good concert and fun was had by all (except for the guys that got kicked out).
